Guide to the Best Equestrian Summer Wardrobe

Best summer equestrian outfits? Yes, It's finally that time of year. The flowers are blooming, the horses' summer coats have come through and the sun has been making a regular appearance.

Time to pack the bobble hats, winter gloves and duvet coats away and get your summer equestrian wardrobe together!

1. Polo's and Sleeveless Tops:

One of the biggest problems equestrians tend to struggle with in the summer is the dreaded T-Shirt tan! Sleeveless tops are great for giving your tan line a little bit of extra space. We love everything about the Animo Bruncio Polo's which is available in Navy and Siena. They are made from a gorgeous material that is light, keeps you cool and is super comfy as it has a light stretch to it. 

If you aren't confident to have your full arms out, then there are lots of other options to help keep you cool. Animo Brancio Polo is exactly the same as the Bruncio but with sleeves! Its comes in Lago and Lemon.

We also love Harcour Scorpion Polo's which give a really smart look and go great with breeches for training or equally with Jeans at a horse event. A really stylish but practical equestrian summer outfit. They are available in Black or Green. 

2. Riding Leggings and Tights.

Riding Tights in the summer can be a god send. During those hot summer days the last thing you want to put on are a pair of breeches but the stretch and lightness of leggings and tights really can help you conquer the heat when you need to ride. We get lots of comments from customers in the shop looking for breeches saying "definitely not riding tights!". Not all of the tights we stock are as scarily fitted or revealing as you think. 

Kingsland Oliane are the lightest tights we stock. They feel like a second skin. We love the high waisted band and the phone pocket on the thigh which is so practical and exactly what you need on a summers day when you have nowhere to put your phone. These are also soooo sticky and really help keep your bum in the saddle! An added feel good factor is they are made from 85% recycled material! Available in Navy or Red. 

We love the design and fit of these Nylan Full seat from Animo. They have a less clingy fabric than tights but still offer a fitted and light material which is great for riding in the heat. 

If you really don't feel comfortable going down the route of tights, then these are a great option from Pikeur. They are light, Stretchy and super comfortable. We only have a couple of pairs left in both. The candela is high waisted, and Laure is low. They are also available in a Blue denim. 

3. Layers and Rain Jackets

If you try to get your riding in as early as possible or late as possible then you may find the weather isn't the hottest just yet. Keep a light jacket on you just incase. We also have some great rain jackets incase you get caught in an unexpected rain shower. 

Tommy Hilfiger have these gorgeous, light zip up hoodies to keep the chill away. They are smart, functional and practical and are a must have for adding over a polo or putting under a gilet. They are available in Coral Blossom, Navy and Royal Berry. A great way to add a bit of warmth to your summer equestrian look.

Animo had brought us some of our favourite rain jackets. Unlike some rain coats which are made from a plasticy fabric which creates a damp and sweaty inner when you get hot, these jackets do not! They do their job of keeping you dry on the outside whilst keeping you comfortable on the inside. They are available in 3 colours Pink, Lago and Turquoise.

4. Accessories

 Caps and socks. Keep your head protected with Animo Vilia Cap available in Navy and Black and your feet cool in Animo Tommy Socks which are light and come in lovely summery colours. These are available in Anthracite, Lago and Lemon.
